BHNC's Senior Services is open Monday through Friday, from 9am to around 2pm, and by special appointment. We offer a wide array of services for all seniors, whether active, in need of support at home, or wanting a concerned and experienced ally in life situations involving hospitalization or extended care. The Neighborhood Elders Support Team (NEST) Case Management Program offers frail, homebound and at risk Bernal Heights seniors the ability to remain healthy and engaged in their own treatment options, to reduce their social isolation and to stave off premature institutionalization. NEST does this by providing a number of comprehensive services, all at no cost to our clients and their family members. This toolbox of community based supportive services includes: comprehensive case management, both in-home &  at 515 Cortland Avenue In-home chores & other support preformed by community volunteers In-home medical assessment and monitoring by Student Nurse Interns from UCSF.
The NEST program is also now working with residents in the Excelsior District.

N.E.S.T. Program:
We are looking for volunteers to deliver meals to low-income seniors, take clients to doctor's appointments, and act as friendly visitors to homebound, frail and at-risk Seniors.

Gifts on the Hill:
Our volunteer-run thrift store, doing inventory, working as a sales person, or doing other tasks. All profits from the store go to Senior Services.

Active Senior Program:
Our active senior program relies on its hardworking volunteers to coordinate all its outings, events, classes and lunch. If you would like to help out with meals, teach a class about something you know or do a musical or theatricalperformance, let us know.
